Moreau holds on to win with clutch free throwing 64-60

Moreau imploding with turnovers to only lead 57-56 with 3:00 left

Moreau up 53-40 after Q3. Moreau at its best in a face tempo.

Moreau missing shots and stagnant on offense. But still lead 37-28 Q2

Oscar Frayer has not been much of an offensive factor but Moreau leads 19-11 Q1. Damari Milstead has another gear in open court.

Sebastian Much has hit a few nice mid range shots and asserted his offense.  Ford with another three 3-point shots and is double digits in this quarter.

Ford hits another few 3-point shots and a few more backcourt steals cuts lead to 42-41.  Ford was probably scoreless in first half and now had close to 20 in third quarter.

Mitty has dominated every aspect of the game with 33-12 half lead.  Mitty guards with several offensive rebounds.  Only negative is Kone missed four free throws.

Moreau loses 68-53. Mater Dei losing in fourth quarter by double digits

Frayer and Milstead playing with intensity to keep it close. 50-41 deficit less than six min

Frayer only 3-point make in the quarter. Moreau missed a lot of perimeter looks. Prestonwood 46-33 Q3

Moreau hit a few 3-point shots and their press led to turnovers . They trail 29-23 at half

4 min overtime and Issaquah scores first.  Russell scores in post.  He hits one free throw.  Russell bleeding wrist misses a possession.  Issaquah misses free throws.  Ford charges which waives off lay up.  A lot of frenetic plays with a lot of misses.  Issaquah misses another two free throws.  Russell makes two free throws 57-54 lead.

Mater Dei wins every quarter including the fourth. They win 70-51.

Oscar Frayer has been effective inside and outside offensively but Mater Dei up 50-35 after three.

Moreau able to cut deficit to six points but trails 36-25 at the half

Mater Dei led by former NBA players sons in MJ Cage and KJ Smith.  

Moreau trails Mater Dei 20-12

Moreau Catholic against the #2 seed Mater Dei who has the size advantage.  Moreau trying to use its quickness but trail  20-12 after one.  

Folsom perimeter shooting ties it up at 61-61 with 2:46 left. Colin Russell had had some good looks in the paint. Damien pulls it out 68-62

Folsom pulls back within 53-49.

Folsom trails 38-32 after Q2.

A game of runs in second quarter as Folsom trailed by as much as 12.

King's shooting has gone cold as Mitty cuts the deficit to 43-38

King's Jordan Poole  hits four straight perimeter shots.  Mitty's guard  play has many turnovers so far.   

King leads 18-10 after one.


King HS does not have anyone listed taller than 6-foot-5  on the roster.  They have a bunch of interchangeable athletics SG and wings who can score creatively and cause pressure defense.

Sacramento wins 66-55

Sacramento dominates inside and outside in the fourth quarter.  The Dragons make more 3-point shots and Young was physical in the post.
Saddleback  featured UC Riverside commit Eric Rwahwire  in the  66-55 loss.
This is the winter viewing period.  USC head coach in attendance in the auxiliary gym.

Missed free throws and turnovers  allows Saddleback Valley to take 35-30 lead midway.  Sacramento ends quarter on 13-4 run to lead 43-39

Sacramento 27-22 at the half.

Solomon Young  has scored  more in the first half than his 3 point output from game 1.  Saddleback has size and length but not as effective as Sierra Canyon.

Low scoring game as Sacramento leads 3-2 midway Q1.  Sayvon Hines with two 3-point shots while Christian Terrell active on both sides with Dragons leading 14-10 end of quarter.

Prestonwood wins 76-51. Folsom made some runs with their perimeter shooting but was overwhelmed in the end.

Prestonwood extends lead to halftime to 38-23. The size advantage is evident on both sides.

Moreau 67-56 win


Milstead had several turnovers in first game of season but still was productive in points and passing.  Frayer was most dominant player in the paint.

After trailing 9-0, Moreau  out scores Issaquah 34-18 to take 34-27 halftime lead.  Issaquah  3-point shooting keeps it close.

Issaquah can't miss as they take 9-0 lead till Moreau free throws at 4:25.  Moreau has size and quickness advantage to rally for 19-16 Q1 lead

Sacramento loses 62-55. Sayvon Hines had a productive game for the Dragons as a promising sophomore.

Sierra Canyon scores first four to start but Sacramento counters with six to cut the deficit to 32-29.  Sierra Canyon 8-0 run to make it 40-29.  Terrell hits third 3-pt shot to break run.

Sierra Canyon pressure defense yields two breakaway lay ups by Martin.  Martin hits a nice midrange shot.  Sacramento missing free throw chances but only trails 19-18 Q2 4:42.  Sacramento  third 3-pt pulls them back to 23-21 deficit.  Sierra Canyon first  perimeter 3-pt extends halftime lead  to 28-23

Sierra Canyon without 6-foot-8 forward Ira Lee but still have sophomores Remy Martin and Cody Riley.  Both teams missing close range shots.  Sierra Canyon with a few offensive turnovers.  Sierra Canyon kept scoreless until 4:50 mark - Sac High 5-2.  Sierra Canyon runs off 6 straight to take 8-5 lead 2:57.  Christian  Terrell hits 3-pt shot and Stevie Matthews drives on a fast break to give Sac 10-8 lead.  Terrell hits his second 3-pt shot.  Sac leads 15-13 after Q1

Final: Moreau Catholic 59 Modesto Christian 51

Modesto Christian scores first 10 in quarter before Moreau scores midway 3-pointer - Modesto up 49-46 midway.  Moreau rallied back to lead 59-51

Moreau 43-39 after third

Oscar Frayer with 16 and Terrell Brown with 13 for Mariners.  Townes has 21 while Jeff Wu with 8 points for Modesto Christian.

Fifth And Final Game: Modesto Christian and Moreau Catholic

Moreau 13-11 after Q1.  Anthony Townes scored all 11 for Modesto Christian.

Carlos Johnson picks up early fourth foul in third quarter.  El Cerrito with a few technical fouls.  Mitty 34-28 after third.

Mitty had a double digit lead in Q4 but EC battled to take the lead.  Scoring picked up and was frenetic in Q4.  Pridgett, Banks, and Johnson fouled out in the quarter.  Cameron Korb fouled out in quarter for Mitty.  EC Nyima Sherab hits buzzer beater three to send into OT 56-56.

Mitty makes first six free throws while EC misses first four in OT.

At half, El Cerrito 21 Mitty 17

Many turnovers and bad free throw shooting on both sides.  Mitty guard play has been sloppier.  Pridgett and Johnson with six points each for EC.
